Continuing more than 3 years’ track record of same-day support for new versions of devices, browsers and OS versions, Perfecto is pleased to announce availability of the newly introduced Samsung S8 and Samsung S8 Plus devices in its continuous quality lab – CQL™.

These 2 new smartphones, first announced in MWC 2017, were just shipped to the market following pre-orders of more than 1 million units.

Samsung, as the biggest Android OEM, is innovating its smartphone product line with new Galaxy-generation devices that are available in 5.8’’ (Samsung S8) and 6.2’’ (Samsung S8 Plus) and run the Android 7.0 (Nougat) OS.

From today – Perfecto customers can perform both manual and automated testing on these devices to confirm that the new product lines with the new screen sizes, OS version, and hardware changes still comply and work as expected with their apps.

Among the hardware changes, Samsung is shifting to Google Play Music as its default integrated music app, replacing the previous Samsung music app that was the de-facto app in previous versions of its devices.

Also, Samsung introduces a new, sophisticated assistant named Bixby that can help customers engage better and smarter with their smartphones. With that in mind, at launch day, Samsung S8 and S8+ are still not supporting voice commands when interacting with Bixby.

As can be learned in most of the Perfecto digital index reports, Samsung is the global Android OEM leader. As such – and based on the early market demand for these new devices that continues the Samsung S7/S7 Edge adoption since last year – this isn’t a market event that can be ignored.

It is highly recommended to plan the inclusion of these 2 new smartphones into your lab right now to start the validation process and leverage the new devices capabilities.

With that exciting news, we have also updated our support for the latest Chrome 58 browser in our digital lab – to see the full list of supported platforms, please refer to our web page
